Average Score is a calculated score found on Kiosk Reports & Dashboards. It's used to provide a normalized score even if different survey scales are being used.

How is Average Score Calculated

  • First, because there are several rating scales, the inputs are converted to a 100 point scale to normalize the rates. Below are the various scales and the converted scores.
  • Average Score is calculated by using the rate scores below in a Weighted Average Calculation.

Example:

Excellent 5 Rates
Good 2 Rates
Bad 1 Rates
Terrible 3 Rates
Total 11 Rates Total

Add Up Rate Scores
5 Rates x 100 Rate Score = 50
2 Rates x 75 Rate Score = 150
1 Rates x 35 Rate Score = 35
3 Rates x 10 Rates Score = 30

Excellent 5/11 = 45% x 50 = 22.5
Good 2/11 = 18% x 150 = 27
Bad 1/11 = 9% x 35 = 3.15
Terrible 3/11 = 27% x 30 = 8.1

Add up Totals = 22.5 + 27 + 3.15 + 8.1 = 60.75

Average Score = 60.75%
